Similar to finance, before I started my path to financial independence, taxes baffled me. And when something baffled me – I didn’t want to do it 🙂 . I had classic “If I’m not naturally good at it, what’s the point?” syndrome. This approach led to my Mom volunteering to do my taxes my first year out of college. I thought nothing of it and I assumed she knew what she was doing since she’d been doing it for so long. Well, 5 years later I received an $800 check in the mail from the IRS.
