Yet many workers fear that robots will replace their jobs. As with the introduction of other technological breakthroughs throughout history, such as the cotton gin, combustion engine and the Internet, some level of disruption is unavoidable. Certain occupational skills, particularly those easily replicable by machines, will become obsolete. But the promise of artificial intelligence is so great, it will also introduce hundreds of new, far more interesting jobs to the workplace.
